Friends of Recovery 2017 Legislative Day – March 22nd

Friends of Recovery – Wisconsin will be hosting the 2017 Legislative Day on Wednesday March 22nd at the Wisconsin State Capitol.
This special day of advocacy is designed to give “voice” for persons in recovery, and individuals interested in making positive advances in the battle with addictions. The goal of Friends of Recovery – Wisconsin is to further educate elected officials, agency personnel and professional staff about our concerns . . . and our hopes.
Registration and info session begins at 10:00am, followed by lunch and speakers including Friends of Recovery – Wisconsin Founder and Executive Director, Bill Lauer, Gary R. Goyke, Friends of Recovery Legislative Director, Eric Peterson, Milwaukee County Legislative Liaison, Jerome Dillard and Blair Tinkle, Legal Counsel, Oxford House.

Later in the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to attend a Press Conference announcing the introduction of legislation that will add a definition of “sober housing” to Wisconsin Statutes and establish a grant program to maintain and expand sober housing opportunities throughout the state of Wisconsin, along with have an opportunity to talk to legislators about issues that are important to you!
