Mark your calendars! January 13th, 2021 is the first annual Stand Up for Recovery Day in Wisconsin. Please come out and use your voice as WI recovery advocate.
We are hosting Stand Up For Recovery Day at the Capitol with our Co-Sponsor, Recovery Advocacy Project- Wisconsin. Our event will celebrate effective recovery programs and work to address current unmet needs of those suffering from substance use disorder.
We will have speakers and recovery-focused resources that will be available throughout the event. Key activities include a working lunch and a public round table discussion focusing on ‘How to Celebrate Successes in Recovery, While Addressing the Gaps in Services’.
Participants will include legislators, DHS staff, law enforcement, citizen activists, health advocates, and peers and family members in recovery. Constituents from across the state will be attending this event. We have encouraged Legislators to be ready as constituents from their districts will be visiting offices from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM to discuss recovery-focused issues.
