Amy Anderson BSW, MS, LPC, CSAC is a dedicated therapist for the Rock County OWI Treatment Court Program. She previously served as the Human Services Program Director for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders, at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Division of Continuing Studies; where she developed course curriculums and presented on the topics of mental health and substance use disorders. As a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor, she worked at Rogers Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc, specializing in substance use disorder treatment and recovery.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Social Work, and later a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.
She joined Wisconsin Voices for Recovery in June 2018 as an Advisory Council member, and was appointed to the Intervention and Treatment Committee for the State Council on Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse in July 2018.
I am proud to say I was a part of the original Summit in Minnesota where Faces and Voices of Recovery was born. I have been an advocate for many years. My passion for this movement has not changed. I am employed with Wisconsin Community Services as the Peer Services Coordinator for Certified peer Specialist programs Waukesha, Ozaukee, Washington, Walworth, and Manitowoc Counties. I have been in the field for many years working in case management, prevention, and intervention. My current passion is Peer Support, advocating for incorporating Peer Support Services in numerous programs. I am a Certified Peer Specialist, a State trainer for Certified Peer Support as well as Career Coach, Recovery Coach, Life Coach, and interventionist. I am also a passionate speaker, writer, and singer.
As well as this Advisory Council I serve on the Substance Use Advisory Committee Waukesha County, Heroin Task force, Waukesha County Mental Health Advisory Committee, and Ministry leader for Celebrate Recovery.
Kristi Burdick DNP, FNP-BC, APRN
I am a Nurse Practitioner originally from Northern Michigan, and I relocated to Eau Claire nearly nine years ago. For the past six years, I have specialized in addiction medicine, offering services such as medication for addiction treatment (MAT). I prescribe all medications indicated for MAT, except methadone.
Before the closure of HSHS and Prevea Health Western WI, I worked at LE Phillips Inpatient Withdrawal Management Treatment Center and provided outpatient services with Prevea. During my time at Prevea, I served on a grant committee focused on expanding services and education for opioid use. I have also educated the Eau Claire Police Department during their critical incident trainings, spoken to sober living facilities about MAT, and collaborated with local jails to incorporate MAT services.
Currently, I am employed at The Remedy Mental Health’s new Eau Claire location. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and a Master’s in Nursing for Advanced Practice Nursing from Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Oakland University in Oakland, MI.
Dan Haak is a person in long term recovery. He is the President of Contract Packaging and Recovery Support at Apricity, overseeing vocational employment, sober living, and ED2Recovery+. Dan has been working at Apricity and Step Industries for over 25 years providing peer support to people in early recovery.
Dan joined the advisory council in 2017. He became a certified recovery coach in 2020. He also worked with ThedaCare and Ascension to bring ED2Recovery+ into the Fox Cities area working with the healthcare systems to provide peer support to in the hospital.
As a registered nurse (RN) and passionate advocate, I am dedicated to supporting individuals in recovery as well as those struggling with addiction. My commitment stems from a blend of compassion and clinical expertise. I strive to empower and advocate for those navigating the challenges of addiction.
My hope is to be a voice that cultivates change within health care organizations and among professionals. By providing awareness and education, I aim to improve understanding and treatment approaches related to addiction. As part of this mission, I actively participate in an advisory council.
In addition to my advocacy work, I serve as a mental health first aider, Narcan trainer, CPR instructor, and nurse educator. These roles allow me to contribute to the well-being of others and share my experience and knowledge.
I am confident that my background and expertise can benefit individuals and contribute positively to the field of addiction recovery and health care.
Kim holds a Bachelor's in Broadfield Social Studies and Secondary Education from Edgewood College and a Master of Science in Community Mental Health and Addiction. She’s a Licensed Professional Counselor, Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor, and Certified Anger Management Level II therapist. As one of the founders of Phoenix Recovery, Kim brings a wealth of expertise in treating addiction, ADHD, various forms of anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, grief and loss, PTSD, and legal issues tied to behavioral health. Kim employs a wraparound approach, tailoring her methods to each client's unique needs.
In her downtime, she cherishes moments with her family and her two young grandchildren. Kim is also an avid dog lover who enjoys running and showing her golden retrievers. She loves spending time with friends, embarking on adventures, and considers herself a lifelong learner passionate about reading and meeting new people.
Kelly Martin, Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), has a background in emergency room nursing prior to that and is currently finishing her bachelors degree in psychology with a concentration in pre-counseling with the goal of one day becoming a licensed professional counselor. She is the co-founder and vice president of People for the People, a peer-run, nonprofit organization in Northern Wisconsin dedicated to fostering a compassionate and inclusive community where individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences can connect, share, and support one another. They strive to eliminate the stigma and shame surrounding mental health and substance use challenges by providing accessible opportunities for peer support, empowerment, and growth; fostering safe spaces where everyone can find the understanding, connection, and resources they need to thrive. She joined the Wisconsin Voices for Recovery Advisory Council because she believes in the power of collaboration and like-minded individuals coming together to create positive, sustainable change.
Jerry Seitz, SAC has been employed at MMC since 2006 as a Substance Abuse Counselor. He provides inpatient, outpatient and day treatment services. Jerry graduated from the Memorial Medical Center Counselor Training Program in 2005. Prior to joining the staff at MMC, Jerry worked at Indianhead Residential for 2 years. He was the night/weekend house manager. He also worked as a substance abuse counselor at Koinonia Residential Treatment Center (now known as Options). In 2016, he received his National Certification for addiction professionals (NCAC1). Jerry has been with Wisconsin Voices for recovery for 6 years. He works with the drug court program in Ashland county and serve as president of a nonprofit organization called Partners in Recovery, which has recently opened a drop-in center in Ashland WI. Jerry is in long term recovery and very active within the recovery community.
