Hello Amazing Wisconsin Recovery Advocates!
WI Voices for Recovery has a dynamic day planned for bringing together recovery advocates and allies from across Wisconsin! Please join us at the Madison Capitol for the 1st annual Recovery Alignment Day from 9:00 am -1:00 pm on April 3rd, 2019!
We will be advocating for recovery support services including recovery housing, recovery coaching, employment support, and community recovery supports, along with other priorities.
The day will include Recovery and Legislative Speakers to possibly include Governor Evers and his team. Attendees will be able to hear from peers in recovery, family members, and an ER Doctor, all of whom are passionate about recovery support services. Concurrently, WIVFR will host a resource fair in the Rotunda of the Capitol Building.
Opportunities are available for you and organizations to provide resources for this event. In addition to advocating to your State Representatives, your State Senators, and to the community at large, you are welcome to staff a resource table from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and make connections with other advocates and interested parties from across the state, don’t wait. Please RSVP to Jessica Geschke (jgeschke@wisc.edu) by RSVP by 3/18/19.
We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at the Capitol on April 3rd!
In addition to WIVFR’s morning event, an afternoon session sponsored by Helios, Shatterproof, and Stop Heroin Now will focus on legislative action for recovery-focused priorities. Please find more information about the afternoon here.
