This past Saturday, Wisconsin Voices For Recovery presented on “Everyday Advocacy” at Solutions Recovery Club in Oshkosh.
Telling your story is an act of advocacy. As a Recovery Coach, for example, you might be sharing your story in order to advocate for someone to seek the treatment that they need. You might advocate by telling a family member or future employer about your recovery story.
Advocacy is powerful when it is motivated by personal experience. Ultimately, when we tell our recovery story we are advocating on behalf of recovery – we are saying that recovery works and let me tell you why…
